Here you will find all the important information about getting there and parking options on site.
Arrival - getting there
Getting to Kaprun
Kaprun is located in Salzburger Land and is easily accessible by car, public transport, or plane. This is where GGUT and KST competitions and the Kids Trail Kaprun children's competition start. The finish lines for all competitions (except Mini GGUT) are also located in Kaprun.
By car:
Kaprun is well connected to the Austrian road network via the Tauern motorway (A10). From the Bischofshofen exit, take the B311 towards Zell am See to reach Kaprun. Please note that a toll vignette is required on motorways in Austria.
By train:
The nearest train station is Zell am See. Regular buses (service 660) or taxis to Kaprun (travel time approx. 20 minutes) are available from there.
By plane:
Salzburg Airport is approximately 80 kilometers away. Munich Airport is about 200 kilometers away. Taxi and shuttle services, as well as public train and bus connections to Zell am See-Kaprun, are available from both airports.
getting to KALS AM GROSSGLOCKNER
Kals am Großglockner is located in Osttirol and is the starting point for the GGT distance and Mini GGUT.
Shuttle buses run from Kaprun to Kals am Großglockner as part of GGUT.
By car:
From Lienz, you can reach Kals via Huben and the Kalser Landesstraße (L26).
By public transport:
The best way to get there by train is to travel to Lienz in Osttirol and then take the bus (service 951 or 952) to Kals. Please note that connections are not continuous – plan ahead!
getting to Enzingerboden (Uttendorf)
Enzingerboden is the starting point for selected GGUT distances (OTT & GWT). It is located near Uttendorf in Pinzgau, at the end of Stubachtalstraße, directly at the lower terminus of the Weißsee Glacier World.
By car:
From the B168 (between Zell am See and Mittersill), drive into the Stubachtal valley in Uttendorf. The toll-free road leads approx. 17 km through the valley to Enzingerboden. The journey time from Uttendorf is about 25–30 minutes.
By public transport:
You can travel by local train from Zell am See or Fürth near Kaprun to Uttendorf/Stubachtal station. From there, a bus to Enzingerboden (service 672) leaves at certain times.
