Regions & locations around the Großglockner Ultra-Trail
The Grossglockner Ultra-Trail is a trail running event, leading through three federal states and the fascinating world of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Thus, the event is not only a sports highlight, but also a unique journey through some of Austria's most impressive natural landscapes. The route leads around the country's highest mountain – the 3,798-metre-high Grossglockner – and connects three federal states: Salzburg, Tyrol, and Carinthia.
Over the various distances, participants experience the full diversity of the regions surrounding the Hohe Tauern National Park: rugged glacier landscapes, idyllic Alpine valleys, spectacular high-altitude trails, and traditional villages that reflect the cultural heritage of the Alps.
Each region has its own character, and this synergy makes the GGUT not only a sporty challenge, but also a scenic and emotional experience.
