  1. Application and Organiser

    1. The Grossglockner Ultra-Trail (hereinafter referred to as “GGUT”) is an event organised by Zell am See-Kaprun Tourismus GmbH (ZSK).

    2. These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern participation in all GGUT competitions. By registering, participants accept these terms and conditions in the version applicable at the time of registration.

    3. Additional information, regulations, mandatory equipment lists, route, and safety information on the official website www.ultratrail.at are an integral part of these GTC.

  2. Participation Requirements & Responsibility of Participants

    1. Healthy, sufficiently trained and experienced runners aged 18 and over (or 16 and over for KST) are eligible to participate. For GGUT, a valid qualification certificate is also required:
      – at least one successfully completed 100 km race listed by ITRA/UTMB since 1 January 2023, or
      – a comparable performance certificate.
    2. The route leads through high alpine terrain, partly at high altitude, at night and in changing weather conditions (cold, rain, snow, wind). Each participant is fully responsible for ensuring that they are physically and mentally fit.
    3. Participation is only possible with an official bib number, completed registration and a signed liability waiver.
    4. Participants undertake to respect the alpine environment, to stay on marked trails and to comply with nature and national park regulations.

  3. Safety

    1. Failure to carry the mandatory equipment will result in disqualification.
    2. Medical services are entitled to remove participants from the race for health reasons at any time.

  4. Rules, Conduct on the Course and Fair Play

    1. Participants are obliged to:
      – stay on the marked course
      – strictly refrain from taking shortcuts
      – provide assistance to injured or distressed persons
      – dispose of rubbish exclusively at official points (“no littering”)
      – refrain from external support outside the official supply stations
    2. Pacers or accompanying runners are not permitted, unless expressly stated in the respective announcement.
    3. The organiser reserves the right to impose time penalties, disqualification or race termination in the event of violations.

  5. Timekeeping, Cut-offs & DNF

    1. Timekeeping is carried out by electronic means (chip or GPS tracking). Defective chips must be reported immediately.
    2. Binding cut-off times apply at checkpoints and supply stations for all competitions. Anyone who does not reach these will be taken out of the race for safety reasons.
    3. Withdrawal (DNF) must be reported at the next supply station/relay point or by phone to the race management.

  6. Course, Weather, Programme Changes

    1. GGUT will take place in all weather conditions. For safety reasons, the organiser may:
      – postpone start times
      – shorten or change routes
      – close race areas

    2. In extreme weather conditions, the start may be postponed by up to 1 hour. If it is not possible to hold the event safely after this time, the event will be cancelled.
